Fox Adds Three Dramas For Fall

A psychological thriller called Next; a southern family soap starring Kim Cattrall and Gerald McRaney; and Jerry Bruckheimer's L.A. Finest police drama, developed for Spectrum cable, will premiere this fall on Fox Broadcasting.

NEW SHOWS: John Slattery (Mad Men) and Fernanda Andrade (The First) star in Next from 24: Legacy producers about a deadly, rogue artificial intelligence threatening humanity.

In Filthy Rich, Cattrell plays the widow of a Christian TV network star (McRaney) who learns that he fathered three illegitimate children all written into his will. The cast includes Melia Kreiling (Tyrant), Corey Cott (The Good Fight), Aubrey Dollar (Battle Creek) and Benjamin Levy Aguilar (Straight Outta Compton).

In L.A.'s Finest, the third installment from Bruckheimer's Bad Boys series created for Spectrum, detective Syd Burnett (Gabrielle Union) moves from Miami to the Los Angeles Police Department, where she's paired with a working mother (Jessica Alba).

Fox also will fill an hour this fall with a third season of Cosmos, hosted by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, which has aired this spring on the National Geographic Channel. 

Fox also plans on Saturday evening sports, although the college football season could be in jeopardy due to the coronavirus.

TUESDAY: 8 p.m., Cosmos: Possible Worlds; 9 p.m.,  FILTHY RICH

WEDNESDAY: 8 p.m., The Masked Singer; 9 p.m., Masterchef Junior.

THURSDAY: 7:30 p.m., NFL Pregame; 8 p.m., Thursday Night Football.

FRIDAY: 8 p.m., WWE's Smackdown Live.

SATURDAY: 7 p.m., Fox Sports Saturday.

MIDSEASON:  Renewed for midseason were 9-1-1, 9-1-1 Lone Star, Duncanville and Hell's Kitchen. Also to debut later in the 2020-21 season are Call Me Kat, a new comedy starring Mayim Bialik from executive producer Jim Parsons (Big Bang Theory), and a two new animated series, The Great North and Housebroken.

E! Online also says Fox has renewed So You Think You Can Dance, Hell's Kitchen, Lego Masters and Mental Samurai.

CANCELED: Definitely gone are Almost Family, BH90210 and Empire.

ON THE BUBBLE:  Not mentioned in the Fox release, and possibly canceled, are Tim Allen's Last Man Standing and The Resident.
