Secretary of State Frank LaRose issued a directive to allow people who are confined to their homes or hospitalized to still have the opportunity to vote with an absentee ballot. The order also requires every county board of elections to offer curbside voting.
The order is in response to the constantly evolving coronavirus situation as people voice concerns about the spread of COVID-19.
Someone deemed to be "unforeseeably confined or hospitalized" would be allowed to still request an absentee ballot and vote on Election Day.
The directive also makes curbside voting available to anyone concerned about entering a voting location because of the spread of coronavirus. Curbside voting requires another person to be sent in to let poll workers know that someone needs a ballot.
The process for both orders require the involvement of bipartisan teams to prevent ballot tampering.
LaRose also issued a guideline for voting locations to keep equipment clean and to spread voting machines out.
