Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky see 23rd straight month of rising home sales

The Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors says the local housing market shows no signs of slowing down.  Home sales continued a trend of reaching a 6-year high each month this year.  They were up  18.8 percent in May compared to a year ago.  Sales last month were up 17.7 percent compared to April. 

The average selling price last month in the Cincinnati area was $175,750 versus $158,017 a year earlier, an 11.2 percent increase.

The Northern Kentucky Association of Realtors says May was its highest month of residential sales since August 2007 with a 26 percent increase from a year ago. 

The average home price in Northern Kentucky was up  16.42 percent over May 2012--$173,831 compared to $149,319.
