The city of Cincinnati this week approved legislation that its sponsor, Councilman P.G. Sittenfeld, called the first of its kind in the nation, dramatically altering the way prospective renters can pay security deposits for apartments.

Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Chris Smitherman surprised city political watchers with an announcement that he will not run for mayor next year.

There is talk that the National Basketball Association (NBA) could end up with a G-League, or minor league, basketball team here in Cincinnati.
