On September 11, 2001, as terrorist attacks besieged New York City and Washington, D.C., airlines saw their flights diverted. One such flight was Delta Flight 37 from London Gatwick to CVG Airport. Glenn Prasser was one of the passengers aboard that flight as it was diverted to Newfoundland and where they would spend the next four days, slowly learning about what was happening in the U.S.

But over the course of those fateful days, countless citizens of the small city of Gander would rise up to make sure that the thousands of passengers from these dozens of diverted flights had a place to sleep, clothes to wear and food to eat. The act of kindness amid international tragedy inspired the Broadway musical Come from Away, which is currently playing in Cincinnati as part of Broadway in Cincinnati.

Joining Cincinnati Edition to talk about the experience and the show are Glenn Prasser and Broadway in Cincinnati General Manager Genevieve Holt.

Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
