The status of homeless services in Cincinnati.

Like many artists, much of her pain and life experience is reflected in her music. She is in town for a three-day Wellness Your Way Festival, Friday Oct. 11 through Sunday, Oct. 13, where she will be performing at the Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati. The festival, which she founded along with Kroger, focuses on providing wellness and mental health resources and education.

As many fans know, Jewel moved out of her house at 15 and found herself homeless by 18. "I grew up in an abusive household and moving out on my own seemed better - and it was," she says. Still, it was "shocking how quickly (homelessness) happened."

On the latest Cincinnati Edition, Jewel recounts that time in her life, and later, host Michael Monks is joined by Kevin Finn, president and CEO of Strategies To End Homelessness, and Debbie Demarcus with Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services, to discuss the status of homeless services in Cincinnati.

Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
