The city of Cincinnati is furloughing 26% of its 6,477 employees. Mayor John Cranley and City Manager Patrick Duhaney made the announcement Monday. On Wednesday, they laid out the details of the cuts to city council during a Budget and Finance Committee meeting.
Joining Cincinnati Edition before that meeting got underway were the newest members of Cincinnati City Council: Betsy Sundermann and Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney. They discuss the furloughs, the city's response to the coronavirus and their new roles during a pandemic.
