Local Republicans plan to fight a recent decision by the Hamilton County commission to extend permanently a 0.25% special sales tax, which was originally adopted to fund renovations of Union Terminal. Though it was set to expire, dropping the county's sales tax to 6.75%, the decision maintains the 7% rate. Now, Republicans see an opportunity to campaign against the issue, and possibly return a candidate to the county commission which is now entirely made up of Democrats.
Ohio's new medical marijuana industry is highly restricted by state policy, but a new report this week shows that while marijuana business licenses are not permitted to be transferred or sold without state approval - it appears to be happening anyway.
