In the final interview he recorded for Around Cincinnati, Frank Johnson spoke last fall to Darren Blase of Northside's Shake-It Records about their just released Cincinnati Musical Legends Trading Cards, Set #1. This project, a collaboration with ArtWorks, celebrates the rich diversity of Cincinnati's music scene through the years with 36 cards featuring the likes of Lonnie Mack, Katie Laur, The Cotton Club, and more.
Update: You can see the original artwork in an exhibition at the Public Library of Cincinnati entitled, "Cincinnati Musical Legends: Art from the First Deck." In this exhibition, you'll see the source materials artists used for their portraits. The exhibition is located on the second floor connector in the Main Library downtown and will be up through December 31st.
