Seelbach Proposes Plastic Bag Ban In The City

Cincinnati City Council Member Chris Seelbach is moving forward with legislation to ban single-use plastic bags by retailers. Seelbach shelved the ordinance at the beginning of the pandemic. Now we could see a vote by mid-September with one revision to the proposal.

The ban can be paused by the city manager during states of emergency, such as the one declared by the city to deal with the pandemic.

Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss the proposed ban are Cincinnati City Council Member Chris Seelbach; and Ohio Grocers Association President and CEO Kristin Mullins.

Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
