The downtown skyline provides the backdrop for NBC's telecast.

This May, a section of Downtown Cincinnati was closed off and transformed into the set of American Ninja Warrior as competitors attempted to master an elaborate obstacle course and qualify for the show's national finals in Las Vegas.

Joining Cincinnati Edition to talk about what it's like, and what it takes, to be an American Ninja Warrior competitor are Nati Ninja Gym Owner James Wilson, aka, the Nati Ninja; professional slackliner Ben Schneider, aka, Reckless Ben; and WVXU Radio and TV writer John Kiesewetter (@TVKiese), aka, Keise. This was Wilson's sixth, and Schneider's first, time competing on American Ninja Warrior. And it was Kiesewetter's first time as a Ninja reporter.

The Cincinnati qualifier episode of American Ninja Warrior (@ninjawarrior) recorded here in May airs on NBC tonight at 8 p.m.

Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
