It started as a rumor, then became a debate, then progressed into a massive construction project. Now, FC Cincinnati's West End home, officially called TQL Stadium, is a reality. The facility will see its first Major League Soccer game this month.
There have been questions throughout the process that brought the stadium to life: How will it impact the historically Black West End neighborhood surrounding it? What does the ongoing pandemic mean for Cincinnati's young team and its new facility? What about details like traffic and parking? Will the team's first season in its new home be more victorious than last year's?
Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss these questions are FC Cincinnati President Jeff Berding; Seven Hills Neighborhood Houses Community Engagement Director Tia Brown; West End Community Council President Robert Killins; freelance sports writer Laura Pfahler; and Enquirer FC Cincinnati beat writer Pat Brennan.
Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
