Locked inside your car might be the best place to watch a scary movie. Three area drive-ins have a frightening line-up this weekend, at least one with actors included.

Looking for a way to be scared out of your mind and still be safe from COVID? Three Greater Cincinnati drive-ins have frightening Halloween line-ups this weekend.

Holiday Auto Theatre In Hamilton

"Terror at the Drive-In" is an annual event at Hamilton's Holiday Auto Theatre and Co-Owner Todd Chancey says this is the 13th year for it.

"It's an immersive experience. You can sit in your car and watch the movie and don't be surprised that the main character from the movie is walking around your vehicle," says Chancey. That main character could be Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees with the showing of the Halloween trilogy and Friday the 13th.

Here's a schedule for this weekend at the Holiday Auto Theatre. You can buy tickets online or at the gate. Chancey does not expect to sell out.

Chancey says the theatre has plenty of space that is socially distanced for cars to park. "We park two cars between each set of poles on our busy night and there's about 25 feet between each set of poles. So there is plenty of room to socially distance if they chose to sit outside their vehicle."

You do have to wear a mask inside the concessions building.

Hollywood Drive-in Theatre In College Hill

The College Hill Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation (CHCURC) is in the process of  fixing up the old Hollywood Theatre and in May opened a drive-in in the parking lot as a one-time event. But CHCURU Executive Director Seth Walsh says it was so successful the organization put on movie features all summer long. Halloween weekend is the final showing for the year.

He expects to sell out, as has been the case most weekends, and says people have loved it. "I think it's going to be one of those experiences that kids talk about in 20 years when they are no longer kids and they're starting to be adults, kind of the nostalgic face of summer in College Hill."

Hocus Pocus and Ghostbusters will show Friday night and Saturday night features Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street. Here's the schedule and ticket information.

Starlite Drive-In In Amelia

Starlite says it will hold "Trunk or Treat" before its triple feature Friday and Saturday nights. Anybody giving out candy must wear gloves and a mask. Trick-or-treaters are also required to wear a mask. In addition, the candy has to be wrapped by a manufacturer.

The three scary movies this weekend at Starlite are The Nightmare Before Christmas, Friday the 13th and Scream.

Here are times for the movies and how to buy tickets.
