The history of the important Miami and Erie Canal detailed in a new book from Arcadia Publishing

The Miami and Erie Canal ran from Toledo to Cincinnati, creating a water route from Lake Erie to the Ohio River, and was one of Ohio's most important canals during the mid-nineteenth century. A recently released book details the history of the canal in photos. Joining us to take a look at some of that history and efforts to preserve it are the co-authors of Miami and Erie Canal, Nancy Gulick, who once worked boats on British canals, and Bill Oeters, assistant editor of Towpaths, the Canal Society ofOhio'?s quarterly journal.
