The value of Ohio and its electoral votes are debated every four years as political pundits consider the necessary path for a presidential candidate to lay claim to the White House. But the Buckeye State is important to the rest of the country in many ways, writes author David E. Rohr.
His book, The United States of Ohio: One American State and Its Impact on the Other 49, was released earlier this year and argues that the state is more than just a political bellwether, but is also an innovator and incubator of the American experience. Rohr contends throughout the book's chapters that Ohio's national contributions to culture, industry, sports and more have played a significant role in shaping the country.
Joining Cincinnati Edition to talk about the book is author David. E. Rohr.
