It's Opening Day in Cincinnati and it might as well be a major holiday in this baseball-crazed town.
Despite the cold, thousands of fans turned out to line the parade route, party at The Banks, and get into the ballpark early to watch batting practice.
Along Race Street Brandy Adams and her friend were seated hours before the parade began and it turns out, they sit in the same place every year to watch it.
"I don't know, it just kind of happens. We always park in the same spot, it was never done on purpose."
Adams comes to the parade year after year and so does Christopher Solomon.
Solomon says, "I was here last year, the year before that and the year before that. It's always an enjoyable experience."
This was the 94th Findlay Market Opening Day Parade and it didn't disappoint, featuring classic cars, precision lawn mowers, and high school marching bands. The parade, slightly scaled back from last year, was kept to 2 hours, giving fans plenty of time to get to the game or get home to watch it. See more pictures of the parade here.
At the stadium, Sue and Scott Kuwatch of West Chester were some of the first in line. They're celebrating their 46th wedding anniversary Monday.
Joe Kobos and his six-year-old son, Joe drove down from Lebanon to experience Opening Day.
"It's something special that only happens in this town," he says. "No other baseball town has something like this... Hopefully when he grows up and has kids of his own, he continues it and brings his kids down here."
Players and staff from both teams are wearing patches honoring the 26 victims from the Sandy Hook school shooting in Newtown, Ct. Fans also observed a moment of silence.
This is the Reds' 137th Opening Day game and the first interleague Opening Day game in Major League Baseball history.
The Reds are on a 59 game Opening Day scoring streak. They haven't been shut out since 1953.
