Hamilton County Juvenile Court Judge Tracie Hunter will have outside counsel defending her in several cases against her, including lawsuits brought by the Cincinnati Enquirer and Channel 9.
Hamilton County Commissioners Monday approved hiring attorneys Firooz Namei and James Bogen.
Hunter has a contentious relationship with the county prosecutor's office, which would normally defend her. She says county attorneys have a conflict of interest given those past issues. The prosecutor's office disagrees, but in its resolution, the Board of Commissioners says it wishes to avoid any appearance of impropriety or conflicts of interest.
