Metro to start winter schedule

Bill Rinehart

The schedule Metro’s buses follow is about to change.  The transportation entity shifts to its winter schedule this weekend.  21 bus routes will change as of December 7.

In a press release, Metro says all but two are minor adjustments.  Route 31, the West End-Evanston-Crosstown eastbound bus will no longer stop at Woodburn and Hewitt, and will change to Woodburn at Fairfax.  From there, the bus will turn onto Fairfax, turn left onto Fairfield Avenue, and then make a right onto Hewitt, before rejoining the usual route.  Metro says the change will mean the bus will stop at different times than before.  Westbound service will not change.

Route 33 will be leaving earlier than usual.  The inbound bus from Western Hills-Glenway will depart 15 minutes earlier than before, so riders can more easily make connections to TANK Express.  TANK is the Transportation Authority of Northern Kentucky.  Metro says this change was made upon the request of riders.

The winter schedules are available online, and Metro says printed versions will be available soon at the Mercantile Building, 120 East Fourth, on weekdays, from 7:30 AM to 5 PM.
