Funeral services for retired Hamilton County Commissioner Todd Portune will be Monday, Feb. 3, at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Downtown Cincinnati.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon, with a funeral service immediately after. Burial will follow at the Spring Grove Cemetery.
Portune, 61, died Saturday evening after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He officially resigned his county commission seat on Dec. 31 after announcing in September that he would not seek re-election in 2020 because of his health issues.
Portune was first elected to the county commission in 2000, and was re-elected four times after that.
Prior to serving as a commissioner, Portune was a member of Cincinnati City Council. He was appointed in 1993, and won election that year. He won re-election in 1995, 1997 and 1999.
Portune is survived by his three children: Ethan, Ellyse and Emma. He's also survived by his brothers, Ned and Bob, and several nieces and nephews.
