The Cincinnati neighborhoods of Avondale, Evanston and South Cumminsville are the focus of a new podcast.
Urban Roots is set to complete its first season. Hosts Deqah Hussein-Wetzel, a Cincinnati-based podcaster and Somali-American historic preservationist, and Vanessa Quirk, a New York City-based podcaster and cities journalist, go in-depth on urban history, particularly stories involving women and people of color.
A grant from ArtsWave Cincinnati helped support the inaugural season.
Hussein-Wetzel and Quirk join Cincinnati Edition to talk about the local neighborhoods featured and the future of the podcast.
Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
