Filming Starts This Week On ‘Marauders’

It’s time again to look for the lights, cameras, action!

Filming is set to begin on “Marauders,” the bank theft thriller starring Bruce Willis (Die Hard,” “The SixthSense,” “Armageddon”), Dave Bautista (“Gaurdians of the Galaxy”) and Christopher Meloni (“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Man of Steel,” “42”) and Johnathon Schaech (“That Thing You Do”).

Director Steve C. Miller announced on Twitter last Friday that he was “one week out from principal photography.”

On Sunday Miller (@stevencmiller) wrote: “Five days out from shooting. @Chris_Meloni@DaveBautista #BruceWillis are gonna kill this. #MaraudersMovie”

Since then Miller tweeted that he has added Schaech to the cast.  The actor has appeared in in “Ray Donovan,” “Sleepy Hollow,” “Prom Night,” “Quarantine” and “Takers” since his break-through role on “That Thing You Do” in 1996.

Miller has posted Instagram photos while scouting Cincinnati locations, including the bank vault in the basement of the Renaissance Cincinnati Downtown hotel (former Bartlett Building and Union Trust Bank at 36 E. Fourth St.); the old Lyric Piano Co. building at 632 Race Street; the intersection of Race and Seventh Streets nearby; and 1800s brick homes.

A sure sign for the movie locations will be temporary no parking signs, temporary street closures and about a half-dozen large trucks containing lights, cameras,  rigging  and other film production equipment, usually from Haddad’s near Pittsburgh.

Hollywood’s Deadline site describes the “Marauders” plot as: “An FBI agent is on the trail of bank robbers who give the stolen loot to charity. As he delves further into the investigation, the lawman discovers the trail of secrets that the owner of a bank – played by Willis – has protected.”

Joining Willis are three actors he has  worked with before: Tyler Jon Olson (“Vice” in 2015, and “The Prince” in 2014); Lydia Hull (“Fire by Fire” in 2012); and Danny A. Abeckaser (“Alpha Dog (2006). Abeckaser’s credits include “The Wolf of Wall Street,” “You Don’t Mess With Zohan,” and “The Iceman.”

The Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Film Commission announced on Sept. 10 that “Marauders” would shoot here, and the need for extras.
