We’ve lost another legend. Comedian Bob Elliott, half of the Bob & Ray comedy team, died Tuesday at his home in Maine, according to his son, Chris Elliott, the actor-comedian.
For more than 40 years, Elliott and comedy partner Ray Goulding, performed their low-key, deadpan humor. Goulding died in 1990. (Their comedy lives on through Elliott’s son and granddaughter Abby Elliott, who worked four seasons on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.”
My favorite bits were their classic the Komodo Dragon (Isn’t that the world’s largest living lizard?)
Take a few minutes and enjoy this interview with Komodo Dragon expert Dr. Darrell Dexter from Upper Montclair NJ.
I’d always laugh when he’d do a bit as reporter Wally Ballou, and they’d make it sound like they cut off the first part of his name: “—Ly Ballou Here!”
Got time for another. Here’s their interview with Harlow……….. P…………. Whitcomb………… from……… the ………….Slow……………Talkers………….of………….America.
Here's a link to Elliott's IMDB page listing all his credits, and to the New York Times obit posted today.
