FINAL_Thrive-Poster-1-663x1024.jpg

Elementz, a Cincinnati-based urban arts organization - with the help of ArtsWave - is producing their first ever concert series for the community focused on music and spoken word from the local Hip Hop community. The series is called THRIVE - A Celebration of Hip Hop Music & Culture.

The first of these four events entitled HipART will take place Thursday, September 19 at the Woodward Theate. HipART performances will explore themes of personal growth, adulting and continuing to pursue dreams at every stage of life.

Elementz Creative Director Abdullah Powell stopped by to tell me more about the events, and to share some of his own music.

THRIVE events include:

  • September 19, 2019 “HipART” @ Woodward Theater
  • November 14, 2019 “This Is My Voice” @ Woodward Theater
  • February 20, 2020 “We ARE” @ Woodward
  • Theater April 4, 2020 “Louder Than A Bomb” @ Freedom Center

Additional Music:
"Mrs. Jones" by Abdullah Powell from his album Reaching Higher
