CPS Students Speak Up And Speak Out About Racial Injustice

As the protests against racial injustice began spreading across the nation this summer, Cincinnati Public Schools Superintendent Laura Mitchell wanted to give young people the opportunity to share their experience surrounding inequality and empower them to create change.

She reached out to CPS Athletics Manager Joshua Hardin and together they created "CPS Students Speak Up and Speak Out" an online forum for African American students to discuss their experiences and for Cincinnati leaders to join in the conversations.

Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss CPS Students Speak Up and Speak Out are Cincinnati Public SchoolsSuperintendent Laura Mitchell; Athletics Manager Joshua Hardin; and student participants Simone Simmons; Rachel Scales; and Christopher Scott.

Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
