Lauren Worley, chief communications and engagement officer for Cincinnati Public Schools.

Before Lauren Worley was getting the word out about Cincinnati Public Schools and student achievement, she was getting the word out about NASA. As press secretary and senior advisor, she led communications initiatives that highlighted the Obama Administration's vision for space exploration. And it wasn't her first high-profile post.

From serving as the artist and talent director for Bono's One Campaign to developing policy as the chief of staff to Former Ohio Lt. Governor Lee Fisher, her career has taken her from D.C. to Ireland and home to Ohio. She is now charged with the messaging for Ohio's best performing urban school district. Lauren Worley, chief communications and engagement officer for Cincinnati Public Schools, joins Cincinnati Edition to discuss the path that brought her here.

Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
