The University of Cincinnati is celebrating a major fundraising goal today. The Proudly Cincinnati campaign is four months ahead of schedule.
The school surpassed $1 billion in personal and corporate donations this month. UC says this places it among one percent of all U.S. colleges and universities to ever raise that amount.
While the Cincinnati region tops the donation list, 33 percent of donations came from New York City, Washington DC and Northern California.
The Proudly Cincinnati campaign began in 2005 but announced the $1 billion goal in 2008.
UC President Santa Ono says the money will impact everything from experiential learning to study abroad programs.
