A series of week-long events are planned at seven of the eight Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks sites.

After years of legal battles, the day is nearly here when the Octagon Earthworks in Newark will be fully opened to the public. The mounds are part of the Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks, which were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2023.

Ohio History Connection says it has reached a deal with Moundbuilders Country Club on a sale price for land that includes the Octagon Earthworks, an ancient Native American earthwork.

Throughout 2021, the Ohio History Connection has offered up a series of workshops called Where My Single Folk? that are all about finding those family members who never married or passed away unmarried, including those who might have been LGBTQ.
