Bunbury, World Piano and Archery Competitions

Great music, old and new, is coming to town this week. The Bunbury Festival offers 80 live performances by local and national bands for three days of outstanding rock. And UC's Corbett Auditorium will resound with the classics, as twenty-four brilliant pianists compete in the World Piano Competition. For a preview of both events, Mark Perzel talks with UC College Conservatory of Music Summer Programs Manager Sara Danner Dukic, World Piano Competition Executive Director Mark Ernster, and the Host of WVXU’s Local Exposure, Jim Nolan.

And On Working for the Weekend, if you’d like to see some fancy shooting, with arrows, the 129th U.S. National Target Championships & U.S. Open/2013 Easton JOAD Nationals are in Hamilton, Ohio. These archery events allow first-time competitors to shoot alongside Olympic medalists, and enjoy the fun and excitement of the sport.
