One day event to collect hard-to-recycle items

Keep Cincinnati Beautiful is offering a one-day free recycling event Saturday for hard-to-recycle items.

They'll be taking various kinds of e-waste like cell phones and computer components along with plastic grocery bags and number 5 plastics.

The one-stop-drop will be at the Whole Foods in Rookwood Commons.

The One Stop Drop is for residents only. Please do not bring materials from businesses, churches, schools, and other organizations. 

Only the items listed below will be collected.

Computers and Other Electronics:
(All hard drives will be erased and shredded during processing. For specific questions regarding the following list of acceptable electronics, please contact 2TRG at 513-761-5333.)

Non-Curbside Plastics:

  • Single-use plastic grocery bags
    • NOT ACCEPTABLE: bread bags, salad bags, zip lock bags, chip bags, or newspaper bags
  • Number 5 plastics such as:
    • Butter tubs
    • Yogurt containers
    • Sour cream containers
    • Take out containers
    • Food containers
    • Only plastics labeled with the number 5 will be accepted

Gently Used Packing Material:

  • Bubble wrap
  • “Air pillows”
  • Packing peanuts
    • NOT ACCEPTABLE: Styrofoam, plastic wrap, anything in a hard form or bad condition

Used Pens and Markers:

  • Pens (any brand)
  • Highlighters (any brand)
  • Markers (any brand)
  • Permanent markers (any brand)
  • Mechanical pencils (any brand)
    • NOT ACCEPTABLE: regular colored or lead pencils
  • Caps

Cell Phones:

  • Cell phones
  • Accessories such as chargers, car chargers, cases, etc.
