New opera tells the true stories of individuals who were tried, convicted, imprisoned and freed through the work of the Ohio Innocence Project.

The opera Blind Injustice premieres at Cincinnati Music Hall this month. The opera tells the true stories of six individuals who were tried, convicted, imprisoned and freed through the work of the Ohio Innocence Project (OIP) at the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

The work is a collaboration between the Innocence Project, Cincinnati Opera, the Young Professionals Choral Collective and UC's College-Conservatory of Music opera department. It's based on casework by the OIP and the book Blind Injustice by UC Law Professor and OIP Director Mark Godsey (@MarkGodsey3), as well as interviews with the six exonerees.

Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss the opera Blind Injustice and the work of the Ohio Innocence Project (@theOhioInnProj) are OIP Director and UC Law Professor Mark Godsey, JD; along with Laurese Glover and Rickey Jackson, two innocent people exonerated by the OIP.

Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
