The Challenges And Possibilities Of Doing Business In Cuba

Thomas Hayes, Xavier University

Last year when President Obama announced the United States was renewing diplomatic relations with Cuba, companies here began working on plans to introduce their products to the Cuban market.

This January, a group from the Xavier University Williams College of Business spent nine days in Cuba to learn about its history, culture and economics. They also saw first-hand some of the real challenges and opportunities companies that want to do business in the changing Cuban economy will face.

Joining us to discuss their trip and what they learned are Xavier University Williams College of Business Chair and Professor of Marketing, Dr. Thomas Hayes; Xavier MBA student and Tax Manager with Barnes Dennig, Heather Hotlosz; and a junior studying international business at Xavier, Scott Quertinmont.
