With record numbers of workers in the Tri-State suddenly unemployed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, employers wonder how to support and protect their workers. Meanwhile, many residents may find themselves seeking unemployment benefits in a crowded and overwhelmed system. New unemployment and small business relief is becoming available via a federal coronavirus relief bill.

Joining Cincinnati Edition to help navigate unemployment and small business loans during this pandemic are Indiana Department of Workforce Development Chief of Staff and Administration Josh Richardson, and Public Affairs Specialist for the US Small Business Administration Indiana District Office Laura Schafitz.

For more information about unemployment assistance in the state of Indiana visit www.in.gov/dwd. For more information about applying for SBA relief or the payment protection plan visit, www.sba.gov.

Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
