DIY’s ‘Sledgehammer’ Features 13 Area Homes

JayTV

A second season of DIY Network’s “Sledgehammer” home makeover series gets off to a smashing start with Michael and LaToya Coffey in Mount Lookout tonight.

On the show, produced by Covington’s JayTV, contractor-host Jason Cameron promises to remodel every room homeowners destroy with a sledgehammer in 30 minutes. The catch? If they don’t finish demolition in a half-hour, they’re stuck with the mess.

The Coffeys wrecked a laundry area and kitchen in their basement in the season premiere tonight (11:30 p.m., DIY Network).

All 13 episodes were filmed throughout Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Viewers will go inside homes from Western Hills to Villa Hills, from Lebanon to Covington.

Jay Shatz, the Emmy-winning former WCPO-TV reporter, started JayTV in 2000. The company also produces “Desperate Landscapes” and “America's Most Desperate Landscape” for DIY Network.
