UPDATE 11:30 A.M. WEDNESDAY, MAY 20: Only two new series – the B Positive sitcom and The Equalizer revival with Queen Latifah – will premiere in CBS' 2020-21 fall lineup.
Clarice, a spinoff from The Silence Of The Lambs, will be held for midseason along with S.W.A.T. and Undercover Boss.

CBS announced the renewal of 23 series last week for the 2020-21 season starting in September. (See below)
Rebecca Breeds (Pretty Little Liars) stars as Clarice, the FBI agent played by Jodie Foster in The Silence Of The Lambs, which won five Academy Awards in 1992. The TV drama -- set in 1993 – will focus on "the untold personal story of brilliant and vulnerable FBI Agent Clarice Starling," CBS says.
Queen Latifah will star in a reboot of The Equalizer, the 1985-89 Edward Woodward drama which was revived in 2014 as a Denzel Washington movie. The rap star turned actress and TV talk show host will play the mysterious crime-solver helping those in desperate need. Chris Noth (Law & Order, Sex and the City) and Lorraine Toussaint (Selma, Orange Is The New Black, Rosewood ) will co-star.
CBS' lone new comedy – so far – will come from prolific producer Chuck Lorre, whose credits include The Big Bang Theory, Bob Hearts Abishola, Mom, Young Sheldon, Mike & Molly, Two And A Half Men, Roseanne and Dharma & Greg.
In his new show, B Positive, Annaleigh Ashford (American Crime Story, Masters of Sex) plays a "rough around the edges woman" who volunteers to donate a kidney to a newly divorced dad (Thomas Middleditch from Silicon Valley).
Original story Wednesday May 6: CBS renewed 23 series for the 2019-20 fall TV season, including five shows ending their first season this spring: Bob Hearts Abishola, All Rise, FBI: Most Wanted, Evil and The Unicorn.
Mark Harmon's NCIS, the network's No. 1 drama series, will return for an 18th season, along with fellow Tuesday night dramas, FBI and the rookie FBI: Most Wanted.
Back for more are the nation's top-rated news magazine show (60 Minutes) and situation comedy (Young Sheldon).
Also renewed: Blue Bloods, Bull, MacGyver, Magnum P.I., NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, S.W.A.T., SEAL Team, The Neighborhood, 48 Hours and Undercover Boss. The network previously had ordered new seasons for Mom, Survivor and The Amazing Race.

Not renewed were Brandon Michael Hall's God Friended Me, Edie Falco's Tommy, Matt LeBlanc's Man With A Plan, Pauley Perrette's new Broke and and Patricia Heaton's Carol Second Act, in addition to the series finales of Criminal Minds, Madam Secretary and Hawaii Five-O.
CBS will announce its new fall series and 2020-21 prime-time schedule "in the coming weeks." Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the broadcast networks were scheduled to release their fall schedules at "up front" events next week in New York City.
