Ghosts, witches and zombies (oh my!)...91.7 WVXU has lots of stories of the strange and macabre to get you in the mood for Halloween.

Halloween special on the Blues!

It's my favorite holiday of the year, and how lucky this year to be able to share some of my Halloween cd collection with you. (Saturday night, October 31st at 11pm)

The theme music for this Halloween special is Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield.  Please note that there aren't any breaks during this one-hour special, but the playlist will be listed on this webpage.

So tonight, you'll hear a must-have on any Halloween special, and that's the one-and-only Dr. John.  There's also music from Marc Cohn, John Mayall, and Johnny Adams.  I had to include one of my favorite Tom Waits songs - Eyeball Kid - from his Mule Variations cd, too.

Other musicians on the special include T-Bone Burnett, Bap Kennedy, Tommy Lee Cook, Koko Taylor, and we'll end with Holly Cole's "The House is Haunted by the Echo of Your Last Goodbye."

Local musicians Greg Schaber & High Street are included along with Bobby Mackey singing his song about a ghost, Johanna.  And, there's a great sound effects laugh from Vincent Price and a short piece by Leonard Cohen, "Intro to Poems" from the Live at the Isle of Wight 1970 cd.
