This week's show begins with Robben Ford's "Chevrolet"...I love songs about cars...and ends with another favorite, Ken Nordine from his Word Jazz cd. You'll also hear Jimmy Witherspoon live with the Robben Ford Band in 1994...Live at the Mint...and Susan Tedeschi before she married Derek Trucks. The second set features Aerosmith, the legendary Janis Joplin, Little Milton and Tracy Nelson's classic "Mother Earth" with Mike Bloomfield on lead guitar.
The third set starts off with the Gene Harris Quartet on Concord Records, Hugh Laurie's "Saint James Infirmary" from his New Orleans set "Let Them Talk," and finally Ken Nordine's "My Baby" recorded in 1957 with Paul Horn on the saxophone.
