Cincinnati Public Schools is rerouting yellow buses which will impact 11,000 riders.

In a press release the district says higher enrollment is increasing the demand for yellow bus service. The district says its projection was off by more than 600 students.

Parents at a Monday night board meeting complained that this is a problem that reoccurs every school year.

Parents say they were expecting CPS to check in on Tuesday with resolutions to their complaints. So far, the response has been mixed. In a previous story, Amy Waldfogle says her daughter is repeatedly dropped off to school and home late.

WVXU reached out to Waldfogle and she says she has received a response from CPS and is feeling hopeful. One day this week, the yellow bus that is supposed to pick up her daughter and other students in their neighborhood never came.

As for first grade parent Scott Hand, he says his family has yet to hear from CPS officials and his son has been picked up 18-22 minutes late each day.

Hand is unsure if his son's bus route will be changed but says he hopes it is.

The new routes will begin Sept. 3.
