Ken Griffey, Sr., Big Red

May 18, 2014

He was a member of the Big Red Machine that won the World Series in 1975 and 1976, he later played on the same team as son Ken Griffey, Jr., where father and son hit back-to-back home runs, something unlikely to ever happen again in the game, and went on to coach, manage and scout. Reds great Ken Griffey, Sr. and Phil Pepe reflect on Griffey’s 19-year major league career, his life and family, in the new book, Big Red: Baseball, Fatherhood, and My Life in the Big Red Machine. Ken Griffey, Sr. sat down with Howard Wilkinson to talk about the book, and his career in baseball.
