Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton joined contestant James Wilson on the 'American Ninja Warrior' stage Friday, May 24.

NBC has delayed the American Ninja Warrior Cincinnati episode by one week, to July 8.

American Ninja Warrior was thrown off schedule this week when the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs went to a decisive Game 7 on Wednesday, pre-empting the summer reality series.

The Cincinnati auditions episode originally was scheduled for July 1. It will air 8-10 p.m. Monday, July 8, on NBC (Channel 5), says Leslie Schwartz, NBCUniversal publicist for the series.

The downtown skyline provides the backdrop for NBC's telecast.

More than 90 contestants tried their luck Friday, May 24, and into the early hours of Saturday, on the obstacle course erected on Second Street in front of GE Global Operations Center.  That location was chosen so the Cincinnati skyline provides the backdrop.

The next night the finalists competed. That episode was originally scheduled for Monday, Aug. 19. It is not known if that air date will change. I'll update this post when I confirm the air date for the second Cincinnati show.

Here's a link to my "My Night With Ninja Warriors" story and photos about watching the auditions posted May 25.
