Raising money for a college fund and a trip to Singapore are the goals of two families featured on HGTV's new Everything But The House 9-10 p.m. tonight.
The series, with host Lara Spencer and co-founder Jacquie Denny from the Blue Ash-based online auction firm, enters its third week with these episodes:
"Fresh Start Sale" (9 p.m., repeating at midnight): "Lara Spencer and her team of appraisers meet a divorcee who's ready to clear out the clutter, start a new life and take a trip to Singapore. Selling off a house full of memories isn't easy, however, especially when the auctions all start at a dollar."
"History Funded Future" (9:30 p.m.; repeating at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, April 3): "Lara Spencer and her team help a couple turn inherited items into a college fund for their son. Everything from speakers, turntables and scientific equipment to fabulous '40s costume jewelry gets auctioned off, and the bidding starts at just a dollar."
In the two premiere shows March 19, Denny presented checks for $61,658 to a Long Island minister for his food pantry, and for $18,445 to a New Jersey woman for an island home.
Denny and her coworkers shot seven episodeslate last summer helping families declutter, downsize, distribute or monetize items from homes or estates in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. Contents from the seven houses were transported back to Blue Ash for evaluation and the online sale "because that's where we ship items from," Denny says.
Spencer, from ABC's Good Morning America and HGTV's Flea Market Flip, is an executive producer on the show, which she has been working on since 2017.
HGTV will repeat six Everything But The House episodes next Wednesday, April 7, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. The seventh and final new episode will air next Friday, April 9, at 9 p.m.
