Shootings overnight Sunday left 18 people shot, including four dead from Over-the-Rhine to Avondale. Police responded to the first shooting early Sunday at 70 E. McMicken Ave. in Over-the-Rhine. They found several people shot and two dead.

At the second shooting scene on Gilbert and Lincoln avenues in Walnut Hills three people were shot.

The third shooting happened on Chalfonte Place in Avondale, where four people were shot and one person died.

Then at 7:45 a.m. a man was shot and killed on Linn Street in the West End.

Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley released a statment on Sunday that reads in part: "Let me be very clear, the responsibility for these shootings lies with the shooters—it is attempted or actual murder.  We will bring the shooters to justice. I am also calling on everyone to help put an end this culture of resolving personal disputes with guns as well as to reduce the far too prevalent availability of illegal guns on our streets. "

Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss the spike in deadly violence is Cincinnati Enquirer breaking news reporter Cameron Knight.
