The National Council on Aging estimates that one in every 10 Americans, aged 60 or older, has been the victim of some type of abuse or neglect. But elder abuse is a hidden crime that often goes unreported. It’s estimated that authorities are notified of only one in 14 cases.

Assurex Health, with its headquarters in Mason, has been sold to a Salt Lake City personalized medicine company for $225 million with the potential for $185 million in additional performance-based milestones.

The company, Myriad Genetics Inc.(NASDAQ:MYGN), says the headquarters will remain in Mason, where 250 Assurex employees work.

Festo, a German automation company with plans to move its logistics center to Mason by the spring of 2016, is busy showing off its research and development to area students.

Mason and University of Cincinnati students got a look at Festo's Bionic Learning Network where UAVs emulate nature to improve automation.

Before applying the principles behind its SmartBird, Festo needed helium to move robotics through the air.
