The Exhale Dance Tribe: RAP-TURE

Exhale Dance Tribe is a contemporary jazz dance company based in Cincinnati and rooted in rhythmic storytelling.  The troupe is comprised of performing artists and dance educators and strives to link dancers, choreographers, musicians, singers and multimedia artists on both a national and international level.

The Tribe performs live with adult and young adult professional dancers in Cincinnati, around the U.S. and as far away as New Zealand.  In 2008 Exhale was named one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” after their participation in the 2007 Cincy Fringe Festival.

In February, The Exhale Dance Tribe brings their latest creation, RAP-TURE, to the Aronoff Center's Jarson-Kaplan Theater.  RAP-TURE is a new work by local choreographers Lindsay Lancaster, Lea Lachey and Jessica Harris and is described as a sensual Spring dance concert with a Hip Hop verve.  RAP-TURE brings together many diverse styles, sound and sights including hip-hop poetry and the music of Leonard Cohen.
