Good Friday pilgramage draws faithful to Mt. Adams

An annual Good Friday tradition is underway in Mt. Adams.

At midnight, Bishop Joseph Binzer blessed the steps of Holy Cross - Immaculata church and the annual praying of the steps began.

Thousands of people will spend a portion of this Good Friday in prayer and reflection, slowly climbing the steps leading up to the church.

It's a tradition that dates back more than 150 years.

The church is open until midnight Friday with two services today at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Priests are on hand to hear confession.

There's a traditional fish fry from 3-7 p.m.

Holy Cross - Immaculata Church is also collecting canned goods and other non-perishable items for Hope Emergency Program in Brown County.
