The city's newest professional sports team is announcing its first big sponsors. Soccer team FC Cincinnati says UC Health is coming on board as presenting sponsor and Toyota will be the team's jersey sponsor.
UDF and Legion Logistics were also announced as sponsors (youth and college supporter, respectively) during an event Wednesday night at the University of Cincinnati where the team will play.
Financial details weren't disclosed.
General Manager Jeff Berding says the team already has deposits for more than 2,500 season tickets.
The team is owned by Carl Lindner III and begins play in U.S. Soccer's third division next year. Lindner says his goal is to move to top-tier Major League Soccer. Berding has said his goal is to make that move within five years.
As WVXU reported, FC Cincinnati officially launched in August.
