The Blues & Halloween: 10/30/16

This Saturday night's program from 11pm-midnight is all about Halloween.  You'll hear a couple of songs by Dr. John, "That Old Black Magic" and "Marie Laveau."

Dr. John is playing very few concerts these days according to his website, so if you get a chance to see him, take it!  He'll be in New Orleans at the end of December on 12/27 & 12/28 at Tipitina's if you want to treat yourself to a trip to New Orleans.

Other Halloween-themed songs include Cassie Taylor's "Gone and Dead," Jeff Black's song, "Ghosts in the Graveyard," and "Cemetery Road" from Tommy Lee Cook.

And of course, there's a song by one of my favorites, Tom Waits...Whistlin' Past the Graveyard.  It's been a very long time since Mr. Waits went on tour, but a trip to his website is always fun.

This Halloween Blues show ends with an Edgar Allan Poe reading of "The Conqueror Worm" by the great Ken Nordine.  This youtube tour of his home studio is really interesting.
