Fifty years ago this month, the world watched as the Apollo 11 lunar module, nicknamed the "Eagle," landed on the moon and Commander Neil Armstrong and Col. Edwin Eugene "Buzz" Aldrin stepped onto the surface of the moon.
Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss the historical significance of that first moon landing on July 20, 1969, are Armstrong Air & Space Museum Executive Director Dante Centuori; and Cincinnati Observatory Assistant Director Dean Regas. Regas is also co-host of the PBS series Star Gazers and co-host of the Cincinnati Public Radio podcast, Looking Up.
This Saturday, July 20, the Cincinnati Museum Center is holding Space Day, a variety of special events and exhibits, including the showing of Apollo 11: First Steps Edition in the museum's OMNIMAX® Theater.
Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
