Like so much in 2020, the Cincinnati Reds baseball season was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic: the game schedule was reduced, no fans were permitted at stadiums, and what had been expected to be a big year for the home team turned out to be rather lackluster.
However, the Reds ended the season on a relative hot streak, winning seven of their last 10 games and finishing above .500 at 31-29.
This year, baseball is back to a full schedule and fans will be returning to Great American Ball Park, though at a reduced 30% capacity for now, since the virus is still with us.
Like last year, pre-season optimism abounds.
