Young Cincinnati singers perform the school pageant with Broadway star Fina Strazza in "A Christmas Melody" at Kilgour Elementary School in 2015 for the Hallmark Channel.

It happens every year. After I publish my Holiday Program Guide for December, networks move around shows.

So you can't watch Mariah Carey's A Christmas Melodyat 4 a.m. Friday Dec. 4, the Hallmark movie she filmed here in 2015 with Lacy Chabert, Kathy Najimy, Lea Lachey, Brennan Elliott and Fina Strazza.

A Christmas Melody will air three times on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel, not the Hallmark Channel, on:

Saturday, Dec. 5: 8 a.m.

Wednesday, Dec. 9: 6 a.m.

Wednesday, Dec. 23: 8 a.m.

Carey directed the film and played a diva PTA mom who helped oversee a grade school's "Snowflake Pageant" Christmas show performed by young Broadway star Strazza (Matilda) and young Greater Cincinnati performers from the Lachey Arts summer camp programs operated by husband-wife Drew and Lea Lachey.

Most of A Christmas Melody was shot at Kilgour Elementary School in Mount Lookout.

Other scenes were filmed in Wyoming, where a single mother (Chabert) and daughter (Strazza) lived. They also frequent a Wyoming coffee shop operated by the mother's aunt (Najimy).

Here's my story from the filming at Kilgour School in October 2015, and my December 2015 story with the first look at Brian Douglas' pictures from the show.

And here's my favorite story from the movie – in which producer Brad Krevoy revealed how the movie came together in just three monthsafter he met Carey in Las Vegas.
