Senate Bill 30 aims to ease labor shortages in the state.

People with disabilities traditionally have much higher rates of unemployment than everyone else. But an analysis by the Economic Innovation Group found the COVID-19 pandemic and increased opportunities to work remotely helped push the employment rate for people with disabilities to its highest level since the Great Recession.

Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) visited a downtown Cincinnati Starbucks Friday and spoke with employees who recently voted to unionize. Afterward, he spoke with media about a handful of current events.

Workers at the Cincinnati Starbucks at Fourth and Vine voted 9-1 Thursday afternoon to join a union. More than 160 Starbucks stores across the country have voted to unionize since December, and 27 have voted against it.
